I have been very active in listing and selling waterfront homes, waterfront lots, residential homes and lots, farms and commercial property for the last 25 years.

It has been very enjoyable working with customers from all parts of the country to help them find the properties to best suit their needs and desires. Some for full time homes and others for that special "Weekend Get-a-Away". I am very fortunate with referrals as well as repeat sales that has been developed over the years. Through hard work and honest dealings with my customers, I have built a good business reputation in Cherokee County.

A life long resident, I participate in a number of community service activities; civic membership and other functions in the county including past president of Northeast AL MR/DD 310 board, board member of Cherokee Chapter of American Red Cross and member of Chamber of Commerce where I serve as a member of economic development committee. I am an active member of the First Baptist Church in Centre.

I am a full time Realtor working regular 6 day per week and by appointment on Sunday afternoon. I am married to Cecil Poovey and have 2 children. One daughter, age 42 living and working in Birmingham, AL and one son, Mark age 38 who lives in our home due to the fact he is mentally retarded. He is a joy to our home.

Prior to becoming a Realtor, I served as a Senior Vice President of a local Cherokee County bank and served in many capacities there with the last ten years being in loans of all types including the values and financing of real estate in the area.
